Ramiz interested in creating ‘Director Cricket’ post in PCB: Report

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja is interested in bringing a post of ‘Director Cricket’ to implement his ideas and plans.

Director cricket operations international Zakir Khan and director National High Performance Centre Nadeem Khan will continue to work, however, decision-making power will be given to Director Cricket.

Ramiz also opined similar thoughts in April this year while talking in the ARY News program ‘Sports Room’.

“I think all the things related to the senior team, U19 cricket, A team, academies, first-class coaches should be overseen by a team director,” he said.

On the other hand, PCB’s director commercial Babar Hameed could be in trouble after PCB didn’t arrange a decision review system (DRS) for the ODI series against New Zealand.

As a result, the series was ruled out of ICC World Cup Super League and will now be considered as a ‘bilateral contest’.

Ramiz in his first press conference as PCB chief on Monday in Lahore expressed his displeasure over this development, and while answering a question said he would personally look into this.
