People have rejected ‘corrupt’ PDM leaders’ narrative: Shibli

Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz has said that leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), involved in “corruption and money laundering” could not befool the nation.

The masses have rejected PDM chief Fazlur Rehman and other leaders’ narrative by not attending their public meetings, he said while speaking to a private news channel soon after the PDM concluded its power show in Multan

The PDM leaders including Maulana Fazlur , Maryam Nawaz, Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari among others addressed the gathering and vowed to send the PTI government packing, accusing it of coming into power via rigged elections.

The information minister went on to say that the opposition parties had acted irresponsibly and displayed immaturity by holding a public gathering in Multan. “It shows that they do not have any interest in public health issues amid rising coronavirus cases in the country.”

Shibli said the government had tried its best to get their public meeting postponed, but they held the rally in total disregard for the anti-Covid standard operating procedures and jeopardised the people’s lives.

Commenting on Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the federal minister said the Bhutto’s party was a federal party, but its incumbent co-chairperson Asif Zardari had now converted it into a regional party of Sindh.

Responding to a question, Shibli said that the PTI government would complete its tenure and win the next general elections as well.
