LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s CEO Wasim Khan confirmed that this year’s PSL opening ceremony will be a pre-recorded show.
Talking to reporters on the sideline of Pakistan vs South Africa – the second T20I at Gaddafi Stadium, Khan shared that due to COVID-19 protocols, it wasn’t possible for them to organize a live opening ceremony on the ground.
“Due to COVID-19, we couldn’t organize a live ceremony at the ground. It will be a pre-recorded show. The Quetta leg of the shoot has been completed and the remaining will be shot in Turkey,” he said.
Responding to a debate on why they chose a foreign venue for the shoot, Khan said they took this decision for better production. “We chose Turkey for better production. It doesn’t mean we don’t have production but we needed high quality. Once we get high-quality production and technicians in our country, we will shoot here,” he highlighted.
It must be noted here that PSL 6 anthem artists have reached Turkey for the shoot. The pre-recorded ceremony will go live before the first PSL 6 contest between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators.
