Central Turkey

Rick Steves’ Europe Travel Guide | We marvel at the fascinating landscape of Cappadocia from high above in a balloon…and from deep below, prowling an underground city where Christians once hid out. We’ll join a circumcision party, explore troglodyte ghost towns, shop for sheep at the market, and chat with an imam. Then we enjoy the modern capital, Ankara, and pay our respects to the father of modern Turkey, Atatürk. | © 2014 Rick Steves’ Europe

This was a very good quick demonstration of my nation Turkey. You were very right with everything you filmed and explained. You made me miss my home town especially during Covid.

The host fails to appreciate the crushing fundamentalism of the so called secular liberal thugs toppling governments and imposing foreign cultures. So much BiAs!!

I don't understand why Rick made this huge mistake of integrating Northern Cyprus into Turkey. This is absolutely unrealistic and ridiculous. Northern Cyprus is a different country with a separate individual administration.

    Turkey.
When Turkish society can prove to be Kurdish schools then Turkey will be able to march democratically.
15 million Kurds in Turkey without the right to have their own schools.
Hitler has never banned schools in the countries he conquered; Erdogan has banned schools in the Kurds.
Erdogan is worse than Hitler in this regard

Imam doesn't mean teacher, it means leader, i.e. the one who leads the (communal) prayer in the mosque.
